This page is about the different stages of the etching process. I've completed two further etchings, a base plate 03 with re-drawn geometry, and a new background plate 04 that extends the idea of the Arctic zones. This gives a total of four plates to play with during the inking-up process. Because these are scrap plates from a second hand merchant, they have some flaws. They don't for example, quite match each other in size. So there's always going to be some registration mismatch in the printing process. But that, in my estimate, adds rather than detracts because the subject matter is there are roughly zones.
